Junior High Girls are on the Forefront of Fashion

I subbed both yesterday and today, and during the quality time I had with America's future, I came to an amazing realization.  Junior High Girls are on the forefront of fashion.

I'm serious here people, these girls are pushing the envelope.  Some examples:

Junior High Girls wear side ponytails: Totally true, and they all rock it like there's no tomorrow.  Do you do this?  No, because you attempt to conform with society.  Junior High Girls say "Society be damned!"

Junior High Girls rock this in a non-awkward way

Junior High Girls wear sequin headbands: Can you even comprehend the previous statement?  It's a hard one to wrap your head around.  Imagine the scene.  It's a Thursday morning.  You have a speech to prepare for.  You have basketball after school.  Your grandparents are visiting for the weekend.  What do you wear to celebrate this mundane and totally normal junior high existence?  A sequin headband!!  And I thought I was out there for wearing shiny pink nail polish to work.

Junior High Girls wear Converse with dress slacks: Yea, you read that right.  They put on a white blouse, grey sweater, a crisp pair of khaki's, and orange Converse.  Take that brides who think it's edgy to wear sneakers hidden under your dress.

Junior High Girls wear trendy jewelry: Ever thought "I want to buy this shutter shade necklace but am afraid it won't go with anything I own." or "I'm just not sure that a purple Justin Beiber watch will look ok with my work clothes."?  Of course you have.  That's why you don't own any of these kinds of items.  But Junior High Girls do!  They have the confidence to rock any awesome accessory and could care less what other people think about how it goes with the rest of their ensemble.

Every day that I see this girls rocking this bold, trendy, and incredibly fearless style, I can't help but envy them.  Or maybe I just envy the age of being able to wear these things and have people act like it's totally normal.  But I do know for sure that I am more and more inclined to buy a sequined headband every day I sub.
