My aunt Cheryl and a family friend named Lin both shared this recipe with me and my family and it is incredible. The story Cheryl told me is that this was developed by nurses at the University of Iowa hospital in the children's burn unit because the special cream the kids were prescribed cost too much. I have made this multiple times and use it basically every day. It is the best, best moisturizer on the face of the earth and I think that everyone should use it.
Lin's Miracle Cream
18 oz. Johnson's baby lotion (the pink bottle)
16 oz. Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E cream (comes in a white tub, I find it at Hy-Vee)
8 oz. petroleum jelly
1. For easiest mixing, soften petroleum jelly in the microwave until it's tacky.
2. Combine ingredients in a large ziploc bag and smoosh together until everything is well mixed and lump free.
3. Snip off the tip of the bag and "pipe" into containers. (warning: this can get messy so be careful and patient)
4. If you like, you can mix everything with an electric mixer instead.
5. Use any place you have dry skin!
(You can use other lotion products but these ones are best. Trust Lin.)
So that's it! The greatest lotion of all time. Make it, use it, and let me know what you think in the comments!
