Only fly Korean Air from now on

You know how sometimes when people travel they spend an excessive amount of time discussing something that is sort of boring?  Like their flight?  Yea, I'm going to do that now.

I am seriously considering detouring through Korea every time I fly for the rest of my life because of how amazing this airline is.  For reals.  Korean Air was so fancy that they provided me with a level of luxury that I wasn't sure what to do with.  At one point a flight attendant handed me a warm towel and I just had no clue as to what it was for.  Turns out it was for wiping my hands.

Korean Air is the cleanest, prettiest, most efficient airline on the planet.  The flight attendants look like princesses.  I'm not even exaggerating.  They were all skinny and beautiful and somehow miraculously managed to look impeccable after working all the way through a 14 hour flight.  I, on the other hand, somehow managed to look disgusting after doing nothing but watching TV and eating for 14 hours.  Gross and embarrassing.

After being initially shocked at the spaciousness of my plane (3 sets of 3 seats!  Tons of overhead space!  Tons of legroom!  IN COACH!!!), I sat down to find a blanket, pillow, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, and convenient Korean Air plastic carry case all on my seat.  Luxury, you guys.  That is luxury.  Also, my seat had it's own TV screen and I could do things like:

  • Watch current, feature films in English or Korean!
  • Watch documentaries about Seoul, the 2008 Olympics, other things I can't remember
  • Play games alone or with a friend
  • Watch TV shows, comedy, drama, kids shows, etc.
  • Listen to music and create my own playlist
Full-fledged entertainment system here!  It was very nice.  I think I also had the option of using the internet or making a phone call but that might have cost money and I had no interest in engaging in that.

My meals were delicious.  I had Korean food at every single one because I wanted to adapt.  I learned how to eat bibimbap (rice, vegetables, and meat mixed together with hot chili paste, my favorite Korean food) by reading the convenient instruction sheet that was provided to me.  I also got wine with dinner.  For free.  The flight attendants gave us drink and/or food pretty much every hour.  It was so nice!  I never wanted to get off.

Eventually though, I did have to get off the flight.  And that process was every bit as comfortable as the rest of the flight had been.  No annoying waiting for other people.  Just neat, orderly, friendly service.  I was sad to have to leave it.

Korean Air princesses showing off the sweetness of the plane they work in.  I've been told that Korean Air flight attendants are basically seen as dream girls by Korean men (actually probably all men, come to think of it).  Can't you see why?!
