When I was at orientation it was at a place called Jeonju University. And the slogan for Jeonju University is "The place for superstars!" Amazing. They gave us free mugs from the university with that slogan on it and I was thrilled because seriously, that slogan is so good.
Towels with the Jeonju University logo and slogan. How could you not love this marketing?
Then when I came to work at my new school, on my first day someone offered me tea and said I could drink it out of their mug. I took this to mean that everyone had their own mug and it would be best if I brought my own mug to school. So I brought the only mug I have, the Jeonju Univesity mug. Did not want to be the only freeloader without a mug. That sets a negative tone in the new office.
After a few weeks I noticed that my mug had actually gone missing and I was a little bothered by it. I want to keep that mug! So I searched for it every few days and it still never turned up. It wasn't on anyone's desk, it wasn't in the "sterilization cupboard" in the office. No where.
Finally this week I asked one of the other teacher's to help me find my mug and she said she would look. So after two days she says, "Taleen. I found your mug." I got super excited and asked her where. Then she responds, "It's in Angry Bird's office." (Angry Bird is our nickname for the Vice Principal. He yells a lot. The nickname is apt.)
So I'm now thinking, "Great, he's got the mug but I can get it later maybe. He can't use it forever." Then she goes on to explain through drawings and broken English that he has a fish tank in his office. And that he is currently using the mug to hold a very small fish.
What?!?!?! My mug!!! It's now a temporary fish tank. Seriously?!?! Of all the mugs in the office he had to pick mine. So now our plan is to just wait for the fish to get bigger and then take the mug. *Sigh* Just biding my time now. But I will get that mug back.

Take the fish hostage. It might be the only way to get the mug back.
