A friend of mine recently told me a hilarious relationship story that he experienced and I have decided to share it here so we can all learn about the benefits of a breakup.
My friend, let's call him George, starting dating a girl that he met at a bar. At first he thought she was smart and pretty and nice but then he soon realized she was obsessed with her career, cheap, and kinda snotty. Mega not cool. As their relationship continued on, George began to think more and more about breaking up with her. I gathered from his story that his reasoning for breaking up was because she never paid for anything and he was getting sick of funding her dining habits. He also said she talked about her job constantly and was boring. Whatever the logic, George was ready to be done with this.
But then she gave him a pair of shoes, of all things. George didn't really want the shoes, but he was nice anyways and he planned on keeping them so he knew he couldn't break up with her quite yet. What a dilemma! George was now forced to continue dating a girl he didn't even like just so that he wouldn't look like a huge jerk for dumping her right after she gave him a nice present.
But no worries, dear readers, because the girl took care of that dilemma. She broke up with him the very next day! Which begs the question, why did she even give him the shoes in the first place? He didn't ask for them, it wasn't his birthday or Christmas or anything, she had absolutely no obligation to give him the pair of shoes. And yet, she did. If I were her, I would have returned them ASAP. Actually, I never would have bought them in the first place because I feel like men should buy their own shoes. But still, what kind of girl does this?! Your thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated on this issue. Together, we can solve this mystery.
First, a question (really 3 questions). How long did George date this woman before
ReplyDelete1) He decided she was snotty?
2) He got tired of paying for all meals?
3) He decided she was boring?
Next, and this is just a guess, but I would say she gave him a present the day before she broke up with him to ease her own guilt and lessen his presumed pain. She gave him shoes because there is generally nothing personal or intimate about footwear. Thanks for the story, Taleen!

I think I agree with David. I think she gave him the shoes to fill the void in his life that she would be leaving when she dumped him.
ReplyDeleteApparently she doesnt think very highly of herself since she gave him shoes. I mean how often do people look at their feet? If she really thought she was super great she would have given him a hat or a watch-something he felt on his head or saw on his wrist 24/7 as a constant reminder to him that she was awesome but now she's gone.
