Will it live up to my expectations of incredibleness? Judging by the title of this post, yes.
Guess what. The hype was totally because the movie was actually awesome!!! I LOVED this movie. I even watched their interview with Larry King afterward. And Larry King's appearance mega creeps me so you know that had to be a struggle.
Quick synopsis of the movie: Follows a team of murderball players on their path to competing in the Paraolympics. Specifically follows a former coach and how he treats his son, the detailed story of a man who was paralyzed by his friend and the development of their relationship since, and a recently paralyzed man who's discovering murderball for the first time. It's intense, heartwarming, happy, sad, inspiring, educational, and completely amazing.
Reasons I loved this movie:
1. Seeing people participate in a sport where they literally almost kill one another is always awesome.
2. The guys play pranks on team staff using their disabilities and it's hilarious.
3. I learned different ways that people end up in wheelchairs and felt one step closer to being a real genius.
4. It showed that even though you might not have a fully functioning body, you can still be an awesome athlete, and further put my athletic abilities to shame.
5. There is a footage of an instructional video showing you have to have sex in a wheelchair. Complete with mullet-haired man.
I know you probably think that I'm hyping this movie up too much, but I honestly think that I'm not hyping it enough. It's difficult to explain what a great movie it is without sounding overly emotional, but trust me when I say it's at least worth watching one time. And plus, with that instructional video in there, how can you resist?
Trailer for you to watch, if this post hasn't already convinced you.
