School Festival

Right before Christmas we celebrated school festival at Danyang High School.  School festivals happen in schools all over Korea and are basically just fun days where kids get to celebrate being school students.  It was really fun and actually reminded me of something that I always secretly wished for when I was a school student.  I wanted time to just hang out with my friends in school without the pressures of homework and tests.  Well Korean kids get to do that!  Here are some pictures from the day.

Me as a caricature smurf/Belle from Beauty and the Beast

Students giving me a Tarot card reading

Me and the art teacher making keychains together

Students taking blood pressure and testing blood (totally unsupervised I might add)

Boys cooking food

Another boy cooking food.  You can't see it super well but he is wearing a bowtie made out of pipecleaners.  Precious to the extreme.

Me wearing a hanbok, traditional Korean clothing

Kids playing Jenga with English questions attached to the game

Cooking club!

Dance club's dance party/karaoke room

Two boys leading each other through a maze in order to know what it feels like to be blind

Learning to spell your name in Korean sign language

Mildly racy face paint that a boy had done to himself
