This day was mostly normal except it rained. A lot. A lot a lot. Just rain and rain and rain, until right before mass started. But no worries because this meant that we got to wear our super cool ponchos! So in the morning we got ready, went to the site, went through security, ate food, and then waited for a long time. Because security was high and there were so many people, we had to wait around for maybe three hours. I didn't mind though because I got to spend time with my friends.
This was also the day I got interviewed by a Hong Kong newspaper. No idea if anything ever went to print. I don't think I even bothered googling it later. But maybe I'm famous in Hong Kong now! Probably am.
Finally, after mass was over we all departed and unfortunately had to say goodbye to our teams since different buses were going different places. I was exhausted but still had had an amazing day and an incredible time overall. I was sad to see everyone go.
Me and the girl who translated for me throughout this entire experience. She's basically the best ever. And we look super cool and tough here.
It's mass!
These four guys are from the Philippines and were the only other foreigners at the Korean Youth Day event (as opposed to the Asian Youth Day) so we bonded. How adorable are they?!
People at confession. This was happening in all of the aisles and I thought it was so interesting that it was just out in the open like this.
Before mass started. This is the same stage where the concert was the night before.
It's the Pope!!!!!
He's coming!!!
Pope!
POPE!!!!
Ok, calm down and be a normal. Focus on mass.
Focus.
A million priests and one Pope.
This girl was my roommate while we stayed in the university dorms and she was super sweet. We did yoga together in the morning! She's a nurse in her real life job.
Want to experience the final mass for yourself? You can! Right here! The interest is great, isn't it?

I watched the first couple of minutes of the Mass video, with the Pope arriving in the car. Pretty amazing atmosphere. How many days did this entire event cover? Did anyone from your school go with you? And you look super tough in your poncho!

The entire event was 4 days total. Nobody from my school went with me but two guys from my church went. They were on different teams though so I was a little bit left to my own devices. But it was okay because I made new friends and they were super nice and awesome! I even visited some last weekend. And thanks for thinking I looked tough! I love that poncho.
