The other day during church, my family and I sat behind a family with little kids. These kids were roughly between the ages of 6 and 9 so they didn't really misbehave or anything and I generally ignored them throughout mass. But then, something weird happened.
I had come back from communion and was kneeling, as Catholics do. I noticed that the smallest boy was looking at me, but didn't pay attention or react at all. Then all of a sudden he turned to his sister and whispered something in her ear. She immediately turned around, looked at me, looked right back at him, and nodded. What was that?! What on earth about my appearance could be so interesting as to provoke a transferring of information between siblings? I'm hoping that the kids just think that I look like someone they know, but I can't help but think that maybe they thought I looked like a weirdo and had to confirm it with one another.
