The mustache is key

I've got a few requests to post a picture of Randy so that the magic of Ride Along Week can be complete.  I'm sad to report that I don't have a picture of Randy and the police website doesn't either.  I imagine this is for his safety and ours.  But still, I want you to have an idea of what he looks like.  So I set out on a quest.

For the most part Randy looks regular.  Mid 50s, slightly grey hair, mildly receding hairline, police officer uniform, etc.  Nothing noteworthy.  But he also has a mustache.  And the mustache is really what ties his whole look together.

I tried to find an image of Randy's mustache to post but I ran into a little bit of a problem.  I don't know anything about mustaches.  I don't even know what the different types are!  Thankfully, the internet came to my rescue.

Introducing the American Mustache Institute.  The site claims that the institute works to "protect the rights of, and fight discrimination against, mustached Americans by promoting the growth, care, and culture of the mustache."  Have you ever heard of a more noble cause?  I certainly have not.  These are the types of things that make this country great.

The AMI conveniently provides a guide to mustache styles that allowed me to learn just exactly what Randy's mustache was.  And, I am happy to report, Randy is proudly rocking the horseshoe.

Q: What do Joe Namath and Randy have in common?  A: An awesome 'tache.

So that's it.  The complete Randy package, horseshoe mustache and all.  This is the man protecting our streets.  And I personally think the mustache does nothing but help keep the citizens of the Sioux safe at night.
